A very powerful phrase, it is said:
When Moses asked God what to say if the Israelites asked who sent him, God replied, “I am who I am. Tell them I am has sent you” (Exodus 3:14).
The Hebrew word translated I am is actually the verb hayah which means to become, or exist. This has come to be understood as “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come” (Rev. 4:8) or “the Eternal One”.
YOU are the eternal one!
